North Country Field Director Position AvailableThe Miss New Hampshire Scholarship Organization is looking for a resident in any of the northern counties of Carroll, Grafton, or Coos to come on board as a volunteer Field Director for the state organization. The position acts as liaison and recruiter for Local Organizations in those three counties to start local programs. The Miss New Hampshire Organization currently has two Field Directors, both of whom live in the Greater Manchester area. The new North Country Field Director would work closely with Miss New Hampshire Board President, Brenda Keith, to develop several Local Chapters in one or more of the three named counties.
Cities and Towns in Coos County include: Berlin, Colebrook, Dalton, Dixville, Gorham, Errol, Lancaster (County Seat), Jefferson, Pittsburg, Randolph, Twin Mountain/Carroll, and Whitefield.
Cities and Towns in Grafton County include: Bethlehem, Bristol,
Campton, Canaan, Dorchester, Easton, Enfield, Franconia, Hanover, Haverhill
(County Seat), Lebanon, Lincoln, Lisbon, Littleton, Plymouth, and Thornton.
Cities and Towns in Carroll County include: Bartlett, Chatham, Conway, Effingham, Freedom, Jackson, Madison, Moultonboro, Ossipee (County Seat), Sandwich, Tamworth, Tuftonboro, Wakefield and Wolfeboro.
Brenda Keith explained, "We are looking for representation from the northern part of New Hampshire. Not since the Lilac Festival held a Miss Lilac Scholarship Pageant, have we had any contestant from north of the Lakes Region-and the last time we had that local program was in the late 80's or early 90's." She noted that the state finals have also had only sporadic representation from Dartmouth College and Plymouth State College. "I have to believe that with the large schools of Dartmouth and Plymouth State sited in Grafton and Carroll Counties respectively, that a Local Organization could draw enough contestants to hold a more than viable competition," Keith stated.
Ideally, each county would have a Miss County Program open only to those students, residents, or full-time employed from any town or city within the specific county. But the Miss New Hampshire Organization is open to a creative plan to include the northern most counties. Current volunteers are encouraged to recruit friends, relatives, or associates who reside in these counties to apply for the position.
